The story of
Leonard Dale McClain (57) passed away peacefully on January 24, 2024, in his Portland, Oregon home. He was born on October 1, 1966, and was raised by his mother, Mary Etta McClain (Perry) and late father, Leonard Steven McClain; alongside his five siblings: Sylvia Garcia (McClain), Gail McClain, Dianne McClain, Teri Lynn McClain, and Robert McClain. Dale was born and raised in the family’s Vaughn Street home in San Fernando Valley, California. He graduated from Sylmar Senior High School, and subsequently moved around, performing construction work in several states, including Ohio and Oregon. Dale was talented at hand craftsmanship, and enjoyed hobbies, such as, upholstery work, woodworking and dabbling in textiles. He was an avid music lover, and could be found listening and singing along to the works of Led Zeppelin, AC DC, and Black Sabbath. But Dale’s true passion was his family who knew him best for his sense of humor and tender-loving heart. Everyone that knew Dale has at least one comical tale about the adventures and hijinks that he brought to the world. Dale is predeceased in death by his father, Leonard Steven McClain. He is survived by Terre McClain, mother of his two children: U.S. Army Sergeant Ariel McClain, and Gannon McClain of Nashville, Tennessee. He is also survived by Niccole Fuller, the mother of his son, Cyrus McClain of Vancouver, Washington. Dale is remembered with love by his five siblings, aunts, uncles, cousins, and grandchildren. In lieu of flowers; friends and loved ones may donate to charities of their choice, or just recall fond memories from the past.
