Emma Faye Nichols, 79 years old, passed away on Sunday, February 19th at the Brookside Inn Nursing Home in Castle Rock, Colorado. Emma led an active & happy life in Colorado, with many camping & fishing trips, and was actively involved with her local church. She enjoyed knitting, and taking walks with her pets, and was especially fond of baking cakes & cookies at home. Emma was born to parents Ralph and Oda in June of 1943 in Ohio, where she graduated in 1961 from Tusky Valley High School in Bolivar Ohio. She is one of 13 children born into the Hawthorne family. She is survived by 3 sons- John, Steve, and Vince, 3 grandchildren, and 4 siblings, along with many nieces and nephews. Per her last wishes, Emma had a simple cremation performed with no ceremony. Her ashes will be scattered at her favorite fishing spot. Anyone wishing to make a donation in honor of Emma should please channel them to their local Pet Rescue center.
