Anna Rae Beck, 87, passed away peacefully in her sleep on March 15, 2024. Rae was born April 18, 1936, to Emily Brown Barnes and Jewel Kenneth (JK) Barnes in McNary Arizona. Rae attended elementary and middle school in Snowflake Arizona. Rae graduated from Snowflake High School in May 1954. In June 1954, Rae married Lonnie Frank Shaw. Lonnie and Rae went on to have 3 children: Peter A Shaw, Paul M Shaw, and Lonna R Shaw Harper. In 1972 Rae married William (Bill) O Beck and went on to have one child: Kimberly Beck Zumar. Rae was blessed with 21 grandchildren and 35 great grandchildren. Rae loved her family and had an especially close relationship with her sisters. Rae was quoted to end phone calls with her sisters saying, “I love you best!” At the age of 25, Rae had her first open-heart surgery. She lived an additional 62 years from the time of her first surgery. In those 62 years she had additional procedures and treatments for her heart. Rae always felt like she was blessed by God throughout her life. Rae was a woman of great faith. She loved our Heavenly Father and Savior, Jesus Christ. Rae was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of latter-day Saints and was always willing to serve the Lord in any way she was called. She served as a member of the Snowflake Stake Primary Presidency for many years. She especially enjoyed serving three family history couple missions with her husband Bill Beck. Rae embraced technology and loved to communicate with family and friends through social media. Rae’s hobbies included painting beautiful landscapes, ceramics, crossword puzzles, trivia, golf, card games, and Yahtzee.
