Zachary (Zac) Josh Sharpe, 52, Tucson Arizona (8/24/1971 – 3/26/2024)
Our beloved husband, father, son, grandfather, uncle, and friend passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, when he lost his battle with colon cancer.
Zac was born in Albuquerque New Mexico and relocated to Tucson with his father soon after, so therefore proudly considered himself a Tucson native. After his early life adventures living in Summer Haven on Mt. Lemmon where his father worked at Ski Valley, they relocated to the west Marana area where he would spend the rest of his formative years until graduating from Marana High School and then becoming a Gulf War veteran in the U.S. Army.
He regularly fondly reminisced about, and expressed his gratitude for, his childhood upbringing that provided him an infinite array of invaluable practical skills as well as irreplaceable experiences with a spontaneously adventurous family, all of which shaped and nurtured a fulfilling adult life.
His skills were highly evident in his continued success within, and dedication to, his decades of work in multiple aspects of the homebuilding/engineering community, most recently in the HVAC sector. Zac was equally as committed to enjoying his personal life to it’s fullest and would never miss an opportunity to take on a woodworking project, ride a dirt bike, attend a car show, have a day on the lake waterskiing, spend an afternoon in the pool with cocktails and “Yacht Rock” pumping through speakers, enjoy a weekend road trip or host a BBQ with as many of his friends and family as he could possibly gather in one day, especially if it could also serve as a viewing party for a U of A basketball or football game or a Denver Broncos NFL game. Zac was also an absolute sports FANATIC, never found a sport that he didn’t enjoy and could always find an event to watch in his free time, regardless of what the current season was.
In 2010 Zac began sharing his life and family with the love of his life, becoming a blended family with four wonderful children, and committing to being an example of love and compassion that could span generations. They were subsequently blessed over the years with 5 beautiful grandchildren who all gave him immense joy and purpose beyond his own expectations. Together he and his wife also found, and pursued, a mutual love of live music and a desire to expand the horizons of their travel with the intent of further enlightenment and engagement with humanity which resulted in finding many new life-long friends as well as heightened humility, gratitude, and love of life.
Zac is survived by his beloved wife Jasmin, his parents Stephen and Judy Sharpe, his children Mikayla Hoagland (Adrian Sandoval), Brennen Sharpe, Justin Hebert (Leah) and Nicholas Drake, his sisters Kelly Sharpe Hanks (Craig), Dixine Moore and Vicki Fulton (Doug Bowers), his grandchildren AJ, Zander, Alena, Jayden & Ryder, nieces and nephews Tiana Sanchez (Jason), Desiree Gonzales, Tristan Moore, Hensley Hanks and Hayden Hanks as well as extended family and a multitude of friends.
To honor Zac’s wishes there will not be any traditional services but instead will be a Celebration of Life at a date in the near future when it can be done in a manner that will pay appropriate tribute to him and everything that he wanted it to be for his friends and family.
