Zachary Darell Turner, our loving, fun spirited brother, son, grandson, uncle and friend
unexpectedly passed away Friday, February 20, 2026. He was 32 years and 364 days of age.
Zach was born February 21, 1993, in West Jordan, Utah to Josh and Candace. He was the oldest of four children or as he would say, he paved the way for the other three. Ryan Wallace, Mathew Joshua and Sarah Grace came along to complete the fabulous four. Zach was so excited to be a big brother, and he was a fierce protector to his siblings. He loved riding his bike, playing with his neighborhood friends and car shows with his dad. He spent many hours throwing the football in the front yard with his brothers. They only broke the fence a couple of times. He enjoyed dance parties in the living room. Music spoke to his soul. He found joy, peace, strength and solace in music.
On the first day of 7th grade, he met his forever best friend. He asked him what his name was. It was Zach Rogers and the legend of Little Zach and Big Zach began. They had so many adventures together.
The best memory they shared is a road trip to San Francisco to see their beloved 49ers. They spent New Years Eve watching fireworks on the Golden Gate Bridge and New Years Day at the game. Their drive home over the Sierra Nevada’s became their greatest adventure when the snow started to fall, as they approached the top of Donner Pass, they encountered a situation where chains were being sold, and the price increased as they got closer to the top. Faced with this dilemma, they decided to lie to the police and claim that their vehicle had all-wheel drive, which allowed them to pass. However, they soon realize that they had made a mistake, and the subsequent drive became one of the scariest they had ever experienced. They graduated together from Copper Hills High School in June 2011. There was no Big Z without Little Z. It was a friendship that they both cherished deeply.
Zach worked at the Megaplex in the District during high school. He saw so many movies during those two years. He loved taking his sister on movie dates. Matt and Ryan were his built-in best friends, and they will be forever grateful for his friendship and love.
Zach was preceded in death by his grandfather and grandmother, Larry and Vicky Grover, his grandmother Kimberly Price. He is survived by his parents Josh Turner, Candace (Bryce) Dixon. His brothers Ryan (Kenzie) Turner, Matthew Turner, sister Sarah (Riley) Turner, his beloved grandma “Nan” Joyce Sorensen, his Uncle Brandon “Booiea” (Hannah) Grover and his sweet Nieces Cora and Charlotte.
A celebration of life will be held Friday, February 27, 2026, from 1:00 - 3:00 pm at the IEC of Utah, 7044 Commerce Park Drive, Midvale UT 84047. The family has requested this celebration be closed to family and friends only. The family would also like to thank Sandi and Ken at the IEC of Utah for their generosity at this time.
