Vincent Principato, age 92, passed away on January 22, 2026 in Glendale, Arizona. Born on January 6, 1934 in Buffalo, New York, Jim dedicated his life to providing for his family. He worked at Loblaws Supermarket in Buffalo, as a meat cutter. He also worked part time. He especially enjoyed being a weekend radio announcer and pizza delivery man. Jim and his wife Shirley, (who preceded Jim in death), decided to move their family to Glendale, Arizona in 1977. He worked for Lucky Supermarket (ABCO) from 1977 until he retired in March 1996. After retiring, Jim became a licensed realtor and worked for Shea Homes for over 10 years assisting in new home sales.
Jim enjoyed listening to music, ballroom dancing, and going to the beach, having been to Hawaii and California several times. He also had a passion for reading and writing poetry. He was a very private and unassuming man who felt things very deeply.
He is survived by his brothers Charles and Alfonso; daughters, Gail Perry, Karen Wesson, and Kim Ricker; grandchildren, Keith, Marc, Michael, Tim, Alex, Kaylee, Ryan, and Megan; ten great grandchildren, with another on the way. He is preceded in death by his siblings Georgia, Phil, Frances, Gerald, and Joanne. He is also preceded in death by his grandson, Nicholas.
He has been a regular parishioner of St Elizabeth Seton Catholic Church in Sun City, Arizona since 2001 after moving from Glendale to Peoria.
A Funeral Mass will be held in his honor at St Elizabeth Seton Catholic Church, 9728 W Palmeras Dr, Sun City, Arizona, on Wednesday, February 11, 2026 at 10:00 am. Following the Mass, inurnment will take place at the National Memorial Cemetery Of Arizona, 2929 E Pinnacle Peak Rd, Phoenix, Arizona, at 12:30 pm.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St Elizabeth Seton Catholic Church for their Jubilee Year celebration, in memory of Jim.
