The story of
Vincent Edward Shaw, a beloved father, grandfather, and cherished friend, passed away peacefully into the arms of our Savior on the morning of April 24, 2025, in Highland, Utah, at the age of 73. After several years of battling multiple lung diseases, Vincent exemplified the true spirit of a Shaw, fighting valiantly until his last breath. Born on February 19, 1952, in Bury, England, Vincent was the son of Yvonne and Horace Shaw. From a young age, he displayed a passion for sports, excelling as an avid soccer player and skier, competing at a professional level in both. His love for skiing eventually led him to America, where he pursued a career in the skiing industry. Vincent found his calling at Breckenridge Ski Resort in Colorado, where he worked as a ski instructor for many years and played a significant role in the opening of Peak 10. In 1989, Vincent met Lynne Richnow, and they married a year later, eager to start a family. In 1992, they welcomed their son, Ryan, and six years later, they were blessed with a daughter, Sarah. Vincent loved being a father, and his greatest joy came from watching his children grow. Whether it was coaching them in soccer, taking them to swap meets, or enjoying camping trips together, his life was filled with happiness as long as his kids were by his side. Throughout his life, Vincent was known by many names: Vince to some, Vinny during his more rebellious years, "Cheeky" bestowed upon him by his children for his mischievous nature, and "Papa White Hair," a term of endearment given to him by his beloved grandson Chance. Beyond his devotion to family, Vincent was deeply motivated by being a steadfast and loyal friend. He was a pillar of support, always ready to offer a helping hand, sage advice, or simply a listening ear. His presence in the lives of those who knew him will be profoundly missed. Vincent is survived by his older sister, Veronica, and younger brother, Neil, who will forever cherish the memories of their time together. He leaves behind his son Ryan, daughter Sarah, daughter-in-law Camille, and his beloved grandson, Chance, who brought immense joy to his life. His Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday May 3rd 2025 at 11:00 a.m., located at 11300 North Highland Blvd, Highland UT 84003. https://local.churchofjesuschrist.org/en/units/us/ut/highland-45th-ward/events/vince-shaw-celebration-of-life
