Victor Ortiz, age 81, passed away peacefully on October 20, 2026. He was born to Della and Louis Ortiz in Denver, Colorado, on June 14, 1945. Victor worked for Nabisco, Denver Health, and Arapahoe County, in addition to many side jobs such as driving the school bus for Presentation Catholic Church. He liked to bowl, go gambling in Blackhawk, have game nights with friends, watch football, and try his luck with scratch lottery tickets. He was a jack of all trades. He could fix anything and was always willing to help anyone who needed it. He was willing to give his time, to loan his tools, and would even go so far as to give someone the shirt off his back. Victor was preceded in death by his parents, Della and Louis; siblings, Mary, Louis, and Liz; and grandson, Justin. He is survived by his wife, Sherry; his daughters, Michelle (Gary) and Sandy (Tammy); 3 grandchildren, Tyler, Israel, and Sammy; and his sister, Margaret (Maurice), and brother, Joe (Dolly), as well as numerous other extended family members. A Celebration of Life is scheduled from 11:30 to 2:30 on Friday, October 30, 2026, at the VFW Post 9644 located at 2680 W Hampden Ave., Sheridan, CO, 80110.
