Timothy Michael Kleinhenz
September 22, 1955 – January 4, 2026
Timothy Michael Kleinhenz was received into the loving arms of Our Lord on January 4, 2026, at the age of 70.
Tim was born on September 22, 1955, in Cleveland, Ohio, and grew up in both Cleveland, Ohio, and New Mexico. In 1974, he proudly joined the United States Navy, serving two years on active duty, during which he received the National Defense Service Medal. He was stationed in Japan, where he learned to play the guitar and the game of cribbage. He continued his service in the Naval Reserves for an additional four years and served aboard the USS Enterprise.
Following his military service, Tim graduated from the University of Colorado with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business and a minor in Music. In 1978, he married his first wife, Debbie Krueger, and in 1981 welcomed his daughter and pride and joy, Jessica. In 1985, Tim moved to New Mexico, where he built a long and respected career as an insurance adjuster. He was known for his dedication, professionalism, and strong work ethic.
In 2004, Tim met his beloved wife, Vera, through their shared love of music and faith. Tim served as guitarist for the contemporary service at St. Timothy’s Lutheran Church in Albuquerque, New Mexico, while Vera was a church choir director at St Luke’s Lutheran Church. Together, they shared 21 remarkable years filled with love, music, worship, family, and travel. Their journeys and musical performances took them across the United States—including Colorado, New Mexico, Arizona, California, Nevada, Tennessee, Louisiana, Mississippi, Illinois, Maryland, Texas, New York, Florida, and Washington, D.C.—as well as internationally to Austria, Germany, and England.
Tim was a gifted musician who loved to sing and play the guitar and ukulele. Music was central to his life and brought joy to all who knew him. He was also an avid sports fan—if you visited while a game was on, you could be certain he was watching. In 2010, Tim became the guitarist for Expressions of Joy, a special‑needs choir for adults ages 17 and older, a ministry that continues to thrive today.
Timothy is survived by his loving wife, Verallen Kleinhenz; his daughter, Jessica (Gary) Jamell; his stepsons, Jonathan (Janice) Edwards and Willie‑Andy Edwards; his stepdaughter, Verallen‑Lyn (Tod) Edwards‑Singletary; his sisters, Barbara Dillon, Clareen Gomez, and Carol Murray; and his brothers, Mark and Gregory Kleinhenz. He is also survived by his cherished grandchildren: Josephine Jamell, Matthew Edwards, Bryan Clay, David Florez, Alexis Gonzales, and Sarah Peterson, along with many other family members, friends, and loved ones.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Norma Kleinhenz; his father, Frank Kleinhenz; and his brother, Stephen Kleinhenz.
A Celebration of Life will be held at First United Methodist Church of Sachse,
1520 Blackburn Road, Sachse, TX 75048, at 1:00 p.m.
In honor of Tim, the family asks that attendees please refrain from wearing black and instead wear something blue—his favorite color.
Donations in Timothy’s memory may be made to the Choral Department of First United Methodist Church of Sachse.
“Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.
It does not dishonor others; it is not self‑seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.
It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, and always perseveres. Love never fails.”
— 1 Corinthians 13:4–8a
