Thomas N. Tower, 82, passed away peacefully on December 3rd, 2025, in Aurora, Colorado. Tom was born on October 15, 1943, in Oak Park, Illinois, to Robert “Harry” and Lillian Tower. Tom loved airplanes, so following graduation from St. Mel High School, he joined the United States Air Force. After receiving extensive training, Tom became an outstanding Weapons Control system and Radar Technician, servicing the F101 “Voodoo” and the F102 “Delta Dagger” fighter interceptor jets. He became a Master Instructor in his field. Following his discharge from the USAF, Tom became an instructor at Lowry Airforce Base for several years. Tom was employed by multiple telephone companies as a Troubleshooting Representative. He made several lasting relationships. Later, Tom became a contractor in his field and started a company called HyperEdge. In this capacity, Tom traveled greatly around the United States to make repairs and train people involving this technology. He enjoyed travelling and meeting new friends along the way. Tom’s passion for aircraft continued to carry over. Tom was an avid radio-controlled model airplane builder and flyer. Tom was a member of the Mile High RC Club and the Crosswinds RC Club where he met and made many lifetime friends. Tom was still in touch with his Air Force friend, Bill ‘Chick’ Coleman. They have many good memories and Tom loved talking about his service to our country and keeping in touch with his friends.
Tom had a strong interest in fishing. Together with his late friend Virgil, he caught numerous fish in various Colorado lakes using his Lund boat. Tom greatly appreciated nature and valued life.
In Tom’s retired years, he loved to garden and take care of the yard. Tom had an outstanding ability to grow the most wonderful flowers and vegetables. He lived with several golden retrievers over the years, and they all loved him so much. He was the Great Treat Giver, and spent many hours in the sunshine petting happy dogs. Tom also enjoyed walking in his neighborhood, appreciating the beautiful Colorado days that he loved. He enjoyed visiting the neighbors and their pets along the way, sharing smiles and conversations. He had a great sense of humor, and his witty sarcasm was the best. He touched many lives with his kindness, compassion and generosity.
Tom was predeceased by his parents, his second wife Francis, his brother Robert and wife Marilyn, and his sister Carol.
Tom is survived by his first wife, Elsie Kaylor; their son Daniel Tower and wife Lacy; nephews Bob (wife Kory) and Jim Tower (wife Jen), along with great nieces and nephews. His adopted family includes Daymon and Bea Davis, grandchildren Luca, Oliver, and Emily, as well as John Witt and Daylene Frazzini.
At Tom’s request, there were no calling hours.
He was a friend to many, very loved and is greatly missed.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
