On Tuesday evening, January 30th, Tom Howard, at age 80, left us to be with the Lord. He was born in Washington, D.C., on March 10, 1943 to E. Sherman and Violet V. Howard. Tom, at age 22, was drafted by the United States Army and spent a year in Germany. Upon his return after his service, he returned to Safeway and eventually retired after 30 years. He loved to hunt, fish and golf. Tom was also proficient at archery, calligraphy and cooking. Additionally, he enjoyed capturing the beauty around him through photography. He and his wife of 54 years, Pat, loved to travel and took many family trips with their children, Michael and Erin. He loved his family and is survived by wife, Patricia; daughter, Erin Whitaker and her husband, Larry; son, Michael Howard and his wife, Jennifer; five grandchildren, Caitlin and Kyle Whitaker and Justin, Jessica and Caroline Howard. A memorial service will be held at 10am on Saturday, February 17, 2024 at New Song United Methodist Church in Surprise, AZ.
