The story of
Affectionately known as TL, T-LEE, Big Clem, and Terry, passed away on November 24, 2025 at Legacy Emmanuel Hospital in Portland, Oregon. Terrence is survived by his son, Ryan Shown Clemons (Thailand), his father, Harold Eugene Clemons Jr. and step-mother, Lessie Clemons (Maribel, NC), his brothers, Christopher Gordon Clemons (Philadelphia, PA) and Maurice Allen Clemons (Denver CO), and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Terrence is preceded in death by his mother, Doretha Davis Clemons and grandparents, Lucille and Wesley Davis Sr. Terrence served in the US Navy and in the Merchant Marines for a total of 23 years. Terrence Lee Clemons was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed by all who knew him. I never expected to be writing this because you are not here anymore. Even when I try to tell myself that you are simply working overseas and will call me from one of your overseas numbers—whether I am in the States or abroad—it will never be the same. Terrence was a son, father, uncle, brother, cousin, nephew, and a true friend to the loved ones who remain here. His heart was golden. I am thankful for the moments when I was not myself and he helped bring me back down to normal— though sometimes it didn’t work. He was a source of comfort to me and to everyone he encountered. Thank you for being you. It is difficult to accept that you are no longer just a phone call away. Yet you live on through Ryan. When I see Ryan, I see you—and I see some of our mom in him. As I said to you in our last conversation: It is okay. It is time to rest. I will be there to see you. I love you. -Christopher Clemons
