Stephanie Lynn Coffin was born June 7, 1982 in San Diego, California, the oldest of two children. She attended Lord’s Lambs Preschool, Christ Lutheran School, West Hills High School, and Concordia University-Irvine, where she earned her Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees in Education. Stephanie knew from an early age that she wanted to be a teacher. As a preschooler, she would line her dolls and stuffed animals up and play school, reading to them and imparting all kinds of “toddler wisdom.” In 2005, she realized her dream when she received and accepted a call from Yuma Lutheran School in Yuma, Arizona, to teach fourth grade. Four years later, she accepted a call to teach second grade at Mountain View Lutheran School in Las Vegas, Nevada, where she remained for the next 16 years. During her 20 years in Lutheran education, she taught hundreds of children. She loved them all and prayed she was making a difference in their young lives. Outside of the classroom, she loved to travel and spending time with friends and family. The Lord called Stephanie home on November 9, 2025. She was 43 years old. She is survived by her parents, Mark and Pam Coffin, her brother, Kevin, several aunts, uncles, and cousins, as well as many friends and coworkers. She will be missed by all.
