Samuel Frank Spindle 73, sadly passed away May 21, 2025 in San Diego Calif..
Sam was born September 26, 1951 in Jasper, IN to William Tatum and Louise C. Spindle
Sam was raised in Roanoke, VA where he attended and graduated from William Byrd High School in 1969.
From there he moved to San Diego. After taking a salesman job at a local jewelry store catering to the military, Sam decided, because he was so motivated to be successful, he would open his own jewelry store... SAMUELS of CALIFORNIA!
A lot of hard work and determination made him very successful at a very young age! He continued in opening another jewelry store in Oceanside, Ca. with his brother Charles Spindle. Another success story! Unfortunately, when the Gulf War started in August of 1990, the soldiers stopped coming around and the sales came to an end...
No stopping Sam...He, along with both brothers, Charles Spindle and George Morehead created another success story, SCHOLASTIC SPORTS INC.,
a sales in advertising company raising funds for high school athletic departments with many offices across the United States. Unfortunately in 2008 when the market crashed so did advertising dollars for most businesses.
Sam carried on as an entrepreneur investing in other interests. SAN DIEGO ADULT BASEBALL LEAGUE became his passion. Sam also enjoyed playing golf regularly. Traveling with family and friends to Cabo San Lucas, Palm Springs and Coronado Ca. being his favorite course.
He continued to be active after retiring in 2018.
Sam is survived by his wife Jill Spindle, 3 adult children Eiffel Ditimus (Kari), Tiffany Spindle and Nicolas Spindle. He is the proud grandparent of 5 grandchildren Jaiden, Londyn, Irelyn and twin boys Eiffel and Madero.
Sam is survived by his brothers George (Jan), Charlie (Cathy), along with 5 nieces and 5 nephews.
He will be missed by so many loving and kind friends... real friends... from San Diego to Roanoke VA. and many stops in between!

But in thankfulness that he was"
