The story of
February 25, 1941 – August 16, 2026 It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Ruben Cesar Maldonado, 85, who passed away on August 16, 2026. Ruben was born on February 25, 1941, in Superior, Arizona. He served his country as a member of the United States Army, 82nd Airborne Division, where he proudly served as a paratrooper. Ruben will be remembered for his strength, courage, dedication, and, most importantly, his love for his family. He is survived by his children: Jose Juan Maldonado; Patricia Maldonado, Maria Maldonado, Rose Perez (Saul Perez); Angelina Maldonado, and the mother of his children Eulalia Maldonado Ruben was a loving grandfather to 10 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild. He is also survived by his two sisters, Mary Herrera and Martha Cobos. He was preceded in death by his son, Ruben Luis Maldonado, his parents Luis and Carmen Maldonado, sisters Josephina Acosta and Petra Maldonado, and brother Luis Maldonado. Ruben leaves behind a legacy that will continue through his family and the generations that follow. Though his passing leaves an immeasurable void, the memories he created and the love he gave will remain in the hearts of his family and friends forever. “Hulahoop by Whamo”!!!!! Services will be held on Wednesday, September 16, 2026 at 1000 a.m. at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church located at 60 Church Avenue, Superior, Arizona 85173. A grave side service to follow. A luncheon will be held at the Superior VFW.
