Ronnie Wayne Cloud, 47, of Portland, Oregon, passed away peacefully on June 14, 2025. Creative, athletic, and known for his warm humor and gentle kindness, Ronn was a beloved father, son, brother, coworker, and friend. His welcoming and joyful spirit touched everyone fortunate enough to know him.
Ronn was born December 10, 1977, in Raton, New Mexico, to his loving parents, Clorinda and Ronald Cloud. Growing up alongside his sister, Mellisa Henry, he discovered his passion for sports early on and developed a creative flair that was apparent throughout his lifetime. In 2000, Ronn met his wife Jenn in Tucson and shortly after they relocated to Portland. Ronn attended Portland State University, earning his Bachelor of Arts degree in Marketing and Advertising in 2007—a milestone that marked the beginning of his successful and dedicated career.
For 16 years, Ronn made significant strides in sports marketing, devoting 13 meaningful years to Nike, rising to the position of Senior Merchandise Financial Planner. Known professionally for his innovative thought process, steadfast discipline, and boundless creativity, his expertise was respected and admired by colleagues.
Traveling was a cherished passion in Ronn's life, frequently inspiring him as he journeyed across the globe, eager to experience new cultures, sights, and cuisines. He captured the world in photos, and his love of music created an ongoing soundtrack. His passion extended personally to a love of athleticism and an incredible talent for shoe collecting—a hobby that became legendary among his family and friends.
Above all, Ronn will be remembered as an extraordinary father to his cherished daughter, Lucy. The birth of Lucy was unquestionably the true highlight of his life, bringing immense joy, pride, and a profound sense of purpose. Ronn enthusiastically supported Lucy's athletic pursuits, always present on the sidelines as her greatest cheerleader and admirably devoted father. Their bond was special and purposeful, one that profoundly enriched both of their lives.
Ronn is survived by his mother, Clorinda Cloud; his sister, Mellisa Henry and husband Rob Henry; his beloved daughter, Lucy Cloud and her mother Jenny Cloud; and two nieces, Lauryn and McKenzie. He leaves behind a profound legacy of kindness, and enduring love.
We will forever cherish Ronn's memory and the extraordinary impact he made on his friends, family, and community. He will be dearly missed but never forgotten. Ronn lived his life in the words of Tupac Shakur, “It’s the game of life. Do I win or do I lose? One day they’re gonna shut the game down. I gotta have as much fun and go around the board as many times as I can before it’s my turn to leave.”
A memorial service honoring and celebrating Ronn's life is planned for July 2025, with details to be announced. His family deeply appreciates the outpouring of thoughts, condolences, and prayers they have received during this challenging period. In place of flowers or food deliveries, the family respectfully requests that you honor Ronn by donating to Lucy's College Savings Plan.
