Robert Price Oberly, lovingly known as Bob, passed away peacefully on November 29, 2025, at the age of 82. Born July 27, 1943, in Phoenix, Arizona, Bob was the son of Margaret Price and Raymond Franklin Oberly.
Bob grew up in Phoenix and graduated from North Phoenix High School in 1962. Shortly after, he devoted 2 years of his life to serving in the West Mexico Mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (1963–1965), an experience that deeply shaped his faith, character, and lifelong desire to serve others. He also served in the Peace Corp in Costa Rica 1966-1969.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his infant brother, “Buddy”; and his brother, Kimball Price Oberly. He is survived by his siblings, Christopher Mark Oberly and Susan Oberly Bell.
Bob’s greatest joy was his family. He is lovingly remembered by his ten children and their spouses: Daphenie Baugh (Tom), Jennifer Morgenthaler (Jeff), Robert Oberly (Erin), Barbara Mee (Billy), Steven Oberly (Keeley), Trenton Oberly (Milinda), Cameron Oberly (Kelly), Preston Oberly, Makay Taylor (Chase), and Hunter Oberly. He also leaves behind 26 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren, all of whom were blessed by his humor, generosity, and love.
Throughout his life, Bob worked in many roles that reflected his dedication to provide for his family. He began as a bellhop, later drove for City Delivery, and took on various odd jobs and painting work. Eventually, he became a business owner, running a maintenance supply and vending machine company. No matter the job, Bob approached his work with diligence, resourcefulness, and pride.
Bob had a gift for making life fun. He enjoyed beach trips to San Diego, playing flag football, engaging in lively chess and card games, and serving in numerous church callings. A skilled coupon-cutter—a talent he learned from his mother—he was always on the hunt for a great bargain. His sharp wit, warm sarcasm, and love for practical jokes brought joy to everyone around him. Bob never missed a chance to tease, laugh, and lift the spirits of others.
Above all, Bob lived a life of compassion. He continually looked for ways to help those who were less fortunate, offering quiet acts of service wherever he could.
Bob will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. His humor, kindness, and legacy of service will forever remain in the hearts of his family and friends.
