The story of
Husband, Father, Son, Brother, and Friend. Robert Hill passed away May 31, 2025, at the age of 66. Robert was born in Chicago, IL on November 9, 1958, to Beulah & Edward Hill. He was 1 of 9 siblings. Growing up, Robert developed a passion for art, music, and education. His interest in math, science, and mechanics led to his early graduation from high school, but ultimately he pursued and received an art degree from Loop College. Robert married the love of his life, Brenda, in 1979 and welcomed 2 daughters, Tolaka and Tokina. In the early start of his career, he worked as a muralist and painter at Theodore Ebert & CO before joining the US Army in 1982. Robert's military career spanned over 20 years, in which he served as a communications specialist for the Signal Intelligence Division. He earned multiple badges, medals, and accolades, including the Kuwait Liberation Medal during Desert Storm in 1990, the French Forces Commando Badge, and the National Defense Service Medal. After his retirement in 2001, he continued to work in the communications industry as a civilian. Robert was a man of God who loved his family deeply. He led by example, showing what it looks like to be reliable, loving, caring, inquisitive of life, and, of course, funny. He truly looked through life with his own unique and individual lens, but was not afraid to share the colors of his world. Robert was preceded in death by his mother Beulah Hill; sisters Eunice, Edwana, Evelen Hill; and brother-in-law Bobby Jones. He leaves behind his wife of 46 years, Brenda Hill; eldest daughter, Tolaka Hill-Lloyd; son-in-law, Quhanna Lloyd; grandson, Jalen Lloyd; youngest daughter, Tokina Hill; father- and mother-in-law, Elettie and Freddia Jones; surviving sisters and brothers Lillian, Edward, Earl, Kathleen, and Patricia; in-laws Bonita, Jennifer, Karolyn, Bettra, Sean, and Melvin; and a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
