The story of
It is with profound sadness that we share the passing of our beloved father and devoted husband, Robert (Bob) Allan Votruba, who left to be with our heavenly Father on May 11, 2025 at the age of 77. Loved by his caring and devoted wife of 55 years, Diana Lynn Votruba (Nelson), eldest son Charles Eugene Votruba III, Daughter Erin Elizabeth Navarro (Votruba), and youngest son Brian Matthew Votruba. Also survived by 5 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. Born to Charles Eugene Votruba Sr. and Margaret Joan Searcy. Robert was born in St. Louis, Missouri and grew up with his siblings, Charles Eugene Votruba Jr., Maryann Cochran (Votruba), Joann Arter (Votruba). Growing up he loved to play baseball and to run and play through the backwoods of Missouri. At 17 he would enlist in the Army where he would survive the peril of the Vietnam Conflict. Shortly after returning home a decorated hero, he would meet the love of his life, Diana. They would soon marry and begin their journey in life together. Robert was a man of integrity, honor, courage, love, humor, and wisdom. If ever anyone needed someone to talk to they would talk to Robert. His love for God would shine throughout his soul and bring joy to everyone. Always making you laugh when you are sad. Always giving encouragement when things seem tough. His legacy will survive through the loved ones he leaves as he transcends to be with our loving Father. The world seems a little dimmer without his bright vibrant laughter but he remains with us as we remember his love. "And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes: and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away." - Revelation 21:4
