Rita Jo DeRuntz, age 78, of Denver, CO, passed away on July 4, 2023. She was born on May 10, 1945. Rita was metaphysical, known for her talent as a psychic and a spiritualist. She enjoyed engaging in deep conversations and counseling friends and family on the ways of the universe. Rita's greatest joy came from spending time with her beloved grandchildren and she cherished her moments with family.
Rita is survived by her daughters, Tawnya Perez (Rodrigo Perez) and Nicole Askari; her grandchildren, Kendra, Tad, Kayla, Aiden, Saffron, and Soriya; and her cat, Angel. She was preceded in death by her mother, Ilo Colville; father, Olney Marsh; brother, baby boy Marsh; and sons-in-law, Matthew Goggin and Justin Browning.
Rita attended Shadle Park High School in Spokane, WA and later moved to the California Bay Area where she pursued her passion for beauty attending cosmetology school becoming a successful hair cosmetologist. She married, had children, and resided in California for almost 30 years before moving to Colorado where she lived the remainder of her life.
Rita found solace and spiritual guidance through new thought organizations and in books. Her faith and spirituality played an important role in her life. In her free time, Rita enjoyed various hobbies including jewelry making, painting and drawing, political activism, and immersing herself in theater and the arts.
Rita will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Her memory and the impact she made on the lives of those around her will be cherished forever.
