Richard Wayne Botkin at the age of 81 years passed away peacefully on December 14, 2025 at his home in Castle Rock, Colorado with his family by his side. He was born to Dwight and Marion Botkin on July 21, 1944 in Portsmouth, Virginia.
Richard attended the University of Wyoming earning his Bachelor’s degree in Engineering. In 1967 he enlisted in the US Navy as a LTJG and was stationed in Gulfport, Mississippi until 1972. He took great pride in his service to his country.
His love for his family and friends was his true passion. He enjoyed all of the family festivities and loved having friends and family visit often. He would refer to his home as the “Botkin Lodge”. He also loved traveling in his RV with our dogs visiting all the National Parks.
Richard is survived by his wife Kathy of 42 years and their 4 children and spouses, Stephanie and Jeremy Wehner, Cindy and Paul Flynn, Clay and Ashley Botkin, Joe and Laura Botkin. Also his brothers Mike and his wife Carlene, Steve and Richard’s sister in law Lucy and Larry Checketts. He was the proud GPA of 9 grandchildren, Hannah and fiancé Andrew, Madi, Joe, Faith, Max, Jack, Weston, Blake, Finley and great grandson Giovanni. He is also survived by many cousins, nephews and nieces.
A Celebration of his Life will be held January 24, 2025 between 1:00-4:00 pm at the home of Bob and Susan Concannon at 1040 G Avenue, Coronado, California.
