With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Richard “Rich” Kwak, age 88, of Fountain Hills, AZ, on May 9, 2025. Rich was born on March 22, 1937, in Chicago to Frank and Anna Kwak. He and his beloved wife of 64 years, Mary Ann, lived in Glenview, IL, until 1991, where they raised their four children, and then in Escondido, CA, until 2018. Rich and Mary Ann moved to Fountain Hills, AZ, in 2018. An ever-proud graduate of the University of Notre Dame (1958), Rich was often seen sporting an ND t-shirt or hat. He loved cheering for his favorite team and rarely missed a football or basketball game. He was also a proud member of the US Marine Corps from 1958 to 1971. Rich will always be admired for his friendly nature and uncanny ability to form connections with everyone he met, from work colleagues during his career as a stockbroker to neighbors or strangers in passing. He was quick to lend a helping hand to friends, family, or anyone in need. Rich will be affectionately remembered by his wife, Mary Ann, children, Anne Danahy, Jacqueline MacDonald (Stuart), Lisa O’Neill, and David (Jillaine), his eleven loving grandchildren, sister Bernadette Hogan (James), and many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends. He was preceded in death by his brother Frank Jr. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the Cancer Research Institute. A funeral Mass will be held at St. Bernard of Clairvaux Catholic Church, 10755 N. 124th St., Scottsdale, AZ, on Saturday, June 7, 2025, at 12:00 p.m. All are welcome.
