Celebrating the Life of Raymond G. Olson
July 6, 1929 – July 20, 2026
Raymond G. Olson, born July 6, 1929, in Roseburg, Oregon, lived a full and vibrant life defined by duty, devotion, and an unwavering love for those around him. Across nine decades of extraordinary change, his core values of faith, integrity, and family remained steadfast.
At the age of 17, Ray proudly answered the call to serve his country by enlisting in the Army Air Corps. He served as a Military Police Officer stationed at Lowry Air Force Base in Colorado. During this time, he met his beloved wife, June, while traveling on a bus. Their chance meeting blossomed into a beautiful 77-year marriage, which they celebrated on July 10th.
Together, Ray and June built a cherished family. He treasured memories of fishing and hunting trips with his sons, as well as shared trail rides and horse shows with his daughter—a passion for horses that grew into a lasting legacy passed down through generations.
Ray will be remembered most for his deep wisdom, steady presence, and genuine warmth. Whether offering thoughtful advice, sharing a quiet moment, or serving faithfully in his church community, he made everyone around him feel valued and cared for.
He is survived by his beloved wife, June; his children, Ray Olson (Suzette), Tom Olson (Elisabeth), Mary Baker (Terry), and Tim Olson (Tonia); 9 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ray and Sadie Olson, and his brothers, Kenny, Gene, and Tom Olson.
