The story of
Phyllis A. (Lang) Kelkenberg passed away surrounded by her loving family on September 29, 2026 after a courageous battle with Pancreatic Cancer. She was born on October 11, 1962 in Springfield, Ohio and was married to her beloved husband for 33 years. Phyllis is predeceased by her parents, William and Donna Lang, her in-laws Kenneth and Nancy Kelkenberg, and brother in-laws Wayne Magoto, and Jim Wills. Surviving her is her loving husband, Bart Kelkenberg, and cherished children, Courtney (Mark) Jarosz, and Jacob Kelkenberg, fur-pup, Polly, siblings, Cherilyn Magoto, Suanne (Dennis) Montgomery, Vicki (John-Wayne) Stratton, Danny (Pam) Lang, Eva Wills, Becky (John) Powers, Cindy (Scott) Dungan, Ruth (James) Kavy, twin brother Phillip (Gail) Lang, brother-in-law Kenneth (Patricia) Kelkenberg, and sister-in-law Diane (Michael) Wallace, and numerous nieces, nephews, and beloved friends. Phyllis graduated from Bethel High School in Tipp City, Ohio in 1980 and began her career with Saint-Gobain Abrasives in 1981. In 1990, she moved to Niagara Falls, New York, where she joined the local Ski Club and met her husband, Bart, in 1991. They married on August 14, 1993, and together welcomed their daughter, Courtney, in 1995, and son, Jacob, in 1998. Phyllis continued her career with Global Abrasive Products, later acquired by Dynabrade, until her retirement in December 2024. Phyllis was deeply involved in her community. She was a Life Member of the Lock City Moose Lodge, where she held several offices at the local and state level, as well as a member of the Lockport VFW Auxiliary and Lockport Elks. She also devoted several years to leading her daughter’s Girl Scout troop. In her free time, Phyllis loved to travel and enjoyed camping, creating many wonderful memories along the way. Above all, she cherished her family and the time she shared with them. Her love, kindness, and dedication to those around her touched many lives and will be remembered by all who knew her. A Celebration of Life honoring her memory will be announced and held at a later date.
