Patty Lynn Maxwell, 63, passed away peacefully on June 3rd, 2026, in Las Vegas, NV.
Patty was born in Monterey, CA, on November 23rd, 1962, to Carrie Lee Easterling nee Brown and Freddie Lee Maxwell, Sr.
Patty loved deeply and was loved deeply in return. She opened her home to many, caring for others as if they were her own and making sure no one around her went without love, comfort, or support.
Patty's laugh was infectious, but more than that, it was memorable. She laughed wholeheartedly and often, even during difficult seasons, finding joy in the people around her and making others feel lighter simply by being near her. She was her rowdiest during football season; she watched almost every game, but you could never pull her away from her favorite: the San Francisco 49ers. Patty had the 49ers in her veins and all over her space. It was never hard to see who, or what, she loved; all you had to do was walk into her home, and it was littered on her walls. Patty had children in her early thirties, but before then, it was obvious she was meant to build a family. The way she took on the youth in her life as they figured out their paths is a testament to the mother she would be.
Patty loved holidays and believed in making moments special, no matter the circumstances. Even during difficult times, she made sure her daughters felt loved, celebrated, and cared for. Whether it was holiday dinners, thoughtful gifts, or simply creating warmth in whatever place they called home at the time, Patty never allowed her children to feel deprived of love. She took pride in presentation and believed no one should leave the house without looking put together-a lesson her daughters still carry with them today.
She was also a devoted soap opera fan, especially General Hospital, and could rarely be pulled away from an episode. Through every chapter of her life, Patty created comfort, laughter, and a sense of home for the people around her.
Patty served faithfully as a choir director at Zion Holiness Last Trumpet Ministries, led by Pastor Johnny Thomas and First Lady Wanda Thomas, where her love for God found a musical home.
Her faith was a constant thread throughout her life, even in seasons when the church felt distant. She retired in April 2025 after more than two decades of dedicated service as a Utility Porter at the Golden Nugget Hotel and Casino, where she was known to many and left her mark on the people she worked alongside.
Patty Lynn is survived by her daughters, Alicia "Lele" Maxwell and leshia Maxwell; her grandson Dylan Johnson; her mother Carrie Lee Easterling; her siblings, Pamela Sue Maxwell, Freddie "Mackie" Maxwell Jr., Earnest "Pete" Easterling Jr., Corey Maxwell, and Lemelle "Mel" Easterling - who lived beside her until her final days and followed her just ten days later; and her goddaughters, LaQuita Greer and Alana Tate.
She was preceded in death by her father, Freddie Maxwell Sr.; her stepfather, Earnest Easterling Sr.; and her brother, Larry Maxwell Sr.
