The story of
North Menfred “Pete” Peterson, age 87, went home to be with Our Lord and Savior on April 30, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family in Scottsdale, Arizona. Born on March 26, 1938, in La Crosse, Wisconsin, Pete was the second oldest of ten children born to Menfred and Bernadette (Schwartzhoff) Peterson. He was raised in Blaine, Minnesota, and graduated from Anoka High School, where he met his high school sweetheart, Judith "Judy" Lindgren. The two were married on November 17, 1956, and began a devoted journey together that spanned nearly seven decades. Over their 69 years of marriage, they built not only a loving family but also two businesses (Peterson Stucco and JuLo's Ceramic Creations) that became cornerstones of their community and a source of many enduring friendships. In 1976, Pete founded Peterson Stucco, a business that reflected his strong work ethic and commitment to quality. Through this venture, he formed lasting relationships within the construction industry and beyond. His involvement extended into civic life as well—he was an active member of the Lions Club and found fellowship through his church family at Glen Cary Lutheran Church in Ham Lake, Minnesota. He also enjoyed time spent with fellow enthusiasts in his classic car club. Pete cherished time with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Family gatherings at the cabin he and Judy created were among his favorite moments. Winters spent at their Arizona getaway brought him joy, relaxation, and welcomed visitors. He maintained close bonds with his siblings and treasured relationships with many nieces and nephews. An outdoorsman and storyteller, Pete had countless tales from hunting trips, fishing adventures, and days on the golf course. He was known for always having a good joke ready to share—a reflection of his warm spirit and generous heart. Pete was preceded in death by his parents; his beloved daughter, Roxanne; and his brother, Joel. He is survived by his devoted wife, Judy (Lindgren); children, Brian (Tammy) Peterson and Cindy (Kim) Johnson; grandchildren, Nathan, Alison, Brittni, Aaron, and Haley; great-grandchildren, Valkyrie, Israel, and Alejandro; as well as many siblings, nieces, nephews, inlaws, and friends who will miss him dearly. A Celebration of Life service will be held at Glen Cary Lutheran Church, 15531 Central Ave. NE, Ham Lake, Minnesota, on Saturday, June 28, 2025. Visitation will begin one hour prior to the service at 11:00 a.m., with a luncheon to follow. Pete’s legacy lives on through the lives he touched with kindness and generosity. May his memory bring comfort to all who knew him.
