The story of
Norman Carl Erickson was born on May 16, 1982 to David and Joy Erickson in Ketchikan, Alaska. Norman graduated from Revilla High School in 2000. Shortly after graduating he left Ketchikan and ultimately ended up in Portland, Oregon where he remained until his death. Throughout his life he worked in various restaurants as a chef. Norman's passion was cooking for the many friends he made in Portland. Norman passed away at the age of 43 on November 4, 2025 with his sister Heidi by his side. 2 days prior to his death Heidi said to him "you're gonna wait until my birthday to pass away as your final FU to me." He turned and looked at Heidi and said "challenge accepted." Those were the final words he spoke to her. He made good on that challenge and passed away on Heidi's 50th birthday. Norman is proceeded in death by his parents David and Joy Erickson, grandparents Norman and Celeste Gerde and Carl and Enid Erickson. Norman is survived by his two sisters Heidi Erickson and Rhonda Erickson and his nephew Michael Erickson. He is also survived by his bestie Amy Nelson and his other best friend Angela Young who were both with him in his final days. There will be no service but his ashes will be spread at a later date in Ketchikan. Condolences can be sent to Heidi Erickson 512 S Garfield St Spokane, WA 99202
