The story of
In Loving Memory of Nola Marie Gornichec Nola Marie Gornichec, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away on September 20, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family. Her life was a beautiful tapestry of devotion, kindness, and love. Stitched together with faith, family, and community. Nola was born on 6/4/1943 in Milford, Utah, to Walter Henry and Mary Elizabeth Muir. Nola married her High School Sweetheart, Barry Forsyth Gornichec, on June 8, 1962. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Provo temple Nola was a devoted wife, mother, and homemaker. In 1977, Nola, alongside her husband Barry, built a lasting landmark in the community with The Little Acorn, which they sold in 1983 and established Barry’s Parkview Drive-In, a place that nourished not only appetites but also friendships and memories for generations. The drive-in became more than a business. Their dedication and warmth left an imprint that will be remembered and cherished by all who knew them. Nola and Barry enjoyed their retirement as camp managers for American Land and Leisure. Nola’s life was defined by love—love for her family, her friends, her community, and the countless lives she touched. She leaves behind not only cherished memories but also a legacy of strength, resilience, and the simple yet profound lesson of living with a giving heart. Her presence will be deeply missed, but her spirit will live on in the laughter of her grandchildren, the stories shared at family gatherings, and the continuing traditions of love she so faithfully passed down. She is survived by her four children, who were her greatest pride and joy: Shaun (Stephanie)Gornichec, Debbie Gornichec, Kim (Bodie)Mattinson, and Kory (Lisa) Gornichec. Nola’s legacy continues to shine brightly through her 13 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren, each a treasured gift that brought her immeasurable joy. A special thank you to her ward members who provided her with so much love, compassion, service, and care Along with Applegate and Heritage Gardens, for giving our mom the best of care during her last days. Celebration of life will be held on November 15, 2025, in Spanish Fork at the LDS chapel located at 1661 South 1400 East
