The story of Narda
Narda Elizabeth Farrell (Mammy), 76, passed away in her sleep, in the early morning of May 8th. She was surrounded by family and Scripture in the days before. Born in Everett, Washington to Nathan Baker and Helen (née Stelling). She was best known by her nickname, “Mammy”, as given by her grandchildren. She attended the University of Washington graduating Summa Kum Laudi with honors in 1970, and later graduated from their Dental Hygienist program as one of few women who were accepted into the program. She met the love of her life (second only to Jesus Christ), at the dental office where they both worked. William Terry Farrell and Narda were married in 1971 and spent 24 wonderful years before William’s passing in 1995. Through dentistry she discovered a passion for teaching and in 1980 founded Cedar River Montessori School. CRS was her heart and soul; she greatly loved the work she did and found great honor by being in her students' lives. Mammy retired in 1995 and devoted her life to caring for and homeschooling her grandchildren. Narda attended Highlands Community Church and later New Life Church. She was a prayer warrior and avid attendee of many Bible studies and Small Groups. Her best friends were those she got to visit weekly at her multiple study groups and at church on Sundays. She loved creating and crafting of all sorts; textile arts being her favorite. Mammy was a true Seahawk and Husky. She prided herself on her garden and decorating skills. She was famous for her apple pie recipe and her teddy bear collection. Narda is survived by her son, Jason Farrell and daughter, Tamara Joy Giacomoni; her 9 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by all whose lives she touched. We all know that she is finally at peace and reunited with her Bill. Her family will hold a service at Highlands Community Church, in Renton, WA, on June 23rd at 2:00pm.
