The story of
On December 14, 1936, in the heart of Missouri, Nancy Roberta Scollay (Brown) entered this world, bringing with her a light that would shine brightly for 88 beautiful years. Surrounded by love and the warmth of family, Nancy passed peacefully on May 31, 2025, in Surprise, Arizona, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, humor, and strength. Nancy's life was a tapestry woven with devotion to both her family and her community. A dedicated elementary school teacher, she inspired countless young minds with her passion and patience. After her years in education, Nancy brought her talents to Hewlett-Packard, where she worked for 18 fulfilling years, leaving an indelible mark not only as a valued colleague but also as a cherished member of the HP choir. Her melodic contributions echoed her deep love for music and community. Her faith was a guiding light throughout her life. As a longtime member of Hillsdale United Methodist Church in San Mateo, CA, Nancy's spirit of service and fellowship was evident in her every action. Her laughter could fill a room, her smile could warm the coldest of days, and her strength was an anchor for those fortunate enough to know her. Preceded in death by her beloved mother, Helyn Brown Kendrick, and father, J. Robert Brown, Nancy's memory lives on through her children, Patrick Scollay, Kat Eason (Rick Scollay), and Andrew Scollay (Laura), who continue to reflect her loving spirit. She is also survived by her Grandchildren, Ezra of Portland, OR, Jonah of Surprise, AZ, Connor of Surprise, AZ, Kris of Rancho Palos Verdes, CA, Brandi of Springfield, OR, Quinn of Hillsboro, OR, and Kierra of Buda TX. And also her Great-Grandchildren Mikaeus of Portland, OR and Ava of Hillsboro, OR, all who cherish the countless memories shared with their dear Mother, Grandmother and "Grandma Great". As we celebrate Nancy's life, we are reminded of the Irish blessing that she held dear: "May the road rise to meet you, May the wind be always at your back. May the sun shine warm upon your face, The rains fall soft upon your fields. And until we meet again, May God hold you in the palm of his hand." Nancy, your journey may have ended here, but your legacy of love and laughter will continue to inspire and uplift us. Rest now in peace and grace, until we meet again.
