The story of Michelle
Michelle “Shelly” Marie Wellington, age 52, of San Bernardino, CA., passed away unexpectedly on December 19, 2022, at Wickenburg Community Hospital, Wickenburg, Arizona. The family is both devastated and shocked by her death. Shelly was born October 12, 1970, in Fontana, California to Edward J. Wellington Jr. and Sheena R Wellington (Runkle). Shelly was the middle child of 5 children. After graduating high school, she worked at various places, which led her to work at San Manuel Casino, she started in the card cleaning room, however, quickly move up to becoming an investigator as well as their in-house Notary Public. She enjoyed her time and given her outgoing personality she was offered a job with a company that required her to travel managing facilities in different states. She remained there until the company was sold. Shelly loved reading and even as a child you could find her holding a book. She was funny and loved making people laugh. She was a favorite among most, especially her nieces and nephews. She was so loving and easygoing. She had strong beliefs as to right and wrong; she always looked out for others and would stand up for the underdog. She loved her family, and she never met a stranger, as the saying goes. Shelly was greeted in heaven by her father, Edward J. Wellington Jr., and her beloved Cheryl. Michelle is survived by her brother, Edward Wellington III, St. Helena, CA, and her three sisters, Tara Wellington, San Bernardino, Rhonda Godwin, and Suzette Spurgeon, Phelan, CA. Her three nieces, Sheena Mixon, Sophia Godwin, and Gabby Gomez, her nephews, Joey Cook, Chris, Josh, and Matt Spurgeon, Levi Caliskan, Omar Munoz, and Nick Gomez. A celebration of her life is to be scheduled for a later day.
