The story of Michael
Michael J. Daniels, 63, died on June 30th, 2023 in Glendale, CO. He was born to Robert and Betty Lou Daniels in Madison, Wisconsin in 1959. Michael led an adventurous life filled with family, friends, travel, and music. Michael was preceded in death by his mother, Betty Lou; a sister, Mary Beth Shortnacy; and two brothers, George and Pat Daniels. Michael is survived by his daughter, Alex Daniels; his three sisters, Cindy Benoit, Sally Miller, and Lin Derke; a best friend, Jeffrey Goldberg; and a dozen nieces and nephews. At age 63, Michael had won national championships with the Madison Scouts Drum and Bugle Corps (74 & 75), drummed the roof off various Dallas venues with his band, "Gidget's Bad Habit," and set foot on 5/7 continents (Australia was next on his list). He was a generous and outspoken man who you could always ask for help, never shied away from a challenge (like separating the fly shit from the pepper), and was always looking for a change. He was gone too soon (if if's and but's were candy and nuts...) and is dearly missed. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the family to assist in cremation costs. Zelle or Venmo: @Alex-Daniels-62 Michael's celebration of life will be September 23rd, 2023 in Blue Mound State Park in Wisconsin. Please RSVP at danielskalex@gmail.com and send any pictures or stories you may have to this email as well.
