The story of
Michael Anthony Bello, born on December 4, 1941, in Winters, California, passed away on October 15, 2025, in Seatac, Washington. He was 83 years old. Michael, known to many as Mike, led a life marked by dedication, service, and joy. He grew up in Dixon, California, and attended Dixon High School where he excelled in various sports and graduated in 1959. After earning his degree in Electrical Engineering from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, he embarked on a career that reflected his technical skills and commitment to excellence. During the Vietnam War, Mike proudly served his country as a Seabee. His work involved large-scale construction and support operations—efforts that played a vital role in military infrastructure and logistics during a challenging time in American history. Mike’s life was also deeply enriched by the love of his family. He is now in Heaven with his parents, Alfred and Lorraine Bello. He is survived by his sons, Michael Anthony Bello II and Marc Anthony Bello, his brother, Alfred Patrick Bello II (“Pat”), as well as five granddaughters who brought him immense pride and happiness. Outside of his professional and military accomplishments, Mike found great joy in his hobbies and community. He had a passion for country western dancing and could often be found enjoying the vibrant dance scene in Seattle. A devoted golfer, he spent countless hours on the green perfecting his swing and enjoying the camaraderie of fellow enthusiasts. He also enjoyed time in nature, particularly rural Nevada, where he built two cabins—one in Incline Village and another in Austin. When he wasn’t working on the cabins, he spent his time skiing or hunting. One of his most cherished traditions was attending the annual Rib Cookoff in Reno and camping at Collins Lake with his family and friends—a time filled with laughter, good food, and treasured memories. Those who knew Mike remember him as kind-hearted and generous. His warmth touched many lives, whether through a shared dance step or a quiet moment on the golf course. In keeping with Mike’s wishes, no funeral services will be held. He will be remembered through private family arrangements. May his memory bring comfort to those who knew him and continue to inspire kindness and joy in others.
