The story of
Merle D. McCreery of Westminster, Colorado, passed away on July 29, 2026, following a long and courageous struggle with serious health problems. He was born on 12th June, 1956 at Greeley in Colorado. Merle was a devoted husband to Tina, a loving father to Tia, and a loyal friend to many. He cared deeply about the people in his life and was known for his intelligence, generosity, determination, and willingness to help others. Merle enjoyed a distinguished career as a financial executive and business advisor. Early in his career, he worked in financial management at Storage Technology Corporation and later served as Corporate Controller of Exabyte Corporation. He co-founded ProStor Systems and served as its Chief Financial Officer. Merle also held senior financial leadership positions at Network Photonics, LineRate Systems, and BOA Technology. Throughout his career, he was valued for his financial expertise, sound judgment, and steady counsel. Nearly 20 years ago, Merle received a heart transplant that gave him many additional years with his family and friends. He faced the health challenges that followed with remarkable courage and determination. He fought hard, loved deeply, and remained surrounded by those closest to him during his final days. He will be remembered as a loving husband and father, an accomplished business leader, a wise counselor, and, above all, a very good man and friend. Information about a memorial gathering will be announced separately.
