The story of
Marlan Ralph Snyder (AKA "Paca" AKA "Pops" AKA "Marty") 77, passed with his three children Jennifer Snyder, Jessica Space (Jason) and Justin Snyder holding his hand on Saturday May 10th in Oregon. Nebraska born in the village of Page, he spent his young life in Unadilla with his father Tsgt Marvin Snyder, mother Elsie (Peshek) Snyder, and his sisters Eleta Eisenhauer and Emma Bloedorn. He enlisted and served in the U.S. Army, but didn't like to talk about it. He was much happier telling stories about his "million miles" as a partner in his trucking company, or even about his aptitude working with metal machines. He was married to Linda (Keesee) Snyder, and had a stepson Jeff Buck. Later his favorite subjects were his grandchildren Corbin Spencer and Veronica Space and his retirement; he had many adventures and hobbies. Most notably knapping obsidian, gardening, hunting, fishing and exploring in the RV. Marty was a real Mcguyver, he saw the world geometrically and mathematically and could fix just about anything; often with whatever he had on hand. He was quite clever. His kids were his favorite people and he was happy to adopt their friends over the years. He will be remembered by many as a legend, and will be missed by all who knew him. Pops deferred his final plans to his children who determined he would rather be celebrated in life than mourned in death. His ashes will travel and become new things on this earth. Any donations should be made to programs ending hunger or for at risk youth services as Marty felt neither need exist if society were just.
