Mariela Duarte, 24, died unexpectedly on August 3, 2022, at the University of Colorado Hospital. Mariela was born August 16, 1997, in Forth Worth Texas, the daughter of Ismelys Cordova and Alicia Duarte Rodriguez. Mariela graduated with her Bachelor of Science in Hospitality and a minor in kinesiology. Mariela had been a zoo keeper and a wrangler before moving to Colorado. While Mariela was studying for her credential while working in the gym industry where she would then meet her husband Christopher Michael Selvidge. Chris and Mariela have been together for three and a half wonderFULL years. Mariela and Chris loved going on their motorcycle rides together at any moment to create new memories with new adventures. Mariela and Chris married recently on December 20, 2021, and settled in Aurora Colorado. Mariela loved her family, her friends, and her dogs (Bailey and Thor). Mariela enjoyed physical training, horseback riding, cooking, and anything that involved being outside or outdoors. Mariela loved to watch anything that revolved around Star wars, Marvel, Jurrasic Park, Harry Potter, and as well as Horror movies. Mariela was so in love with anything with vibrant colors from her hair coloring to picking out a colorful wardrobe with of course colorful shoes! Mariela also enjoyed having gatherings and parties for friends. Remembering Mariela of her great smile that would light up any room that followed that sense of humor that would leave you laughing. Mariela was a loyal, loving, honest, dependable, achiever, compassionate, humble, creative, persistent, disciplined, and someone that was larger than life itself. Mariela's husband Christopher Selvidge is an addition to surviving along with Mariela's father Ismelys Cordova and her mother Alicia Duarte Rodriguez in Fortworth Texas. A Celebration of Life will be held at 4:30 PM Sunday, August 22 at her home at 26360 E 3rd Place, Aurora, Colorado. Flowers may be sent there as well.
