Rayma Trujillo, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, passed away peacefully on February 16, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family.
Rayma was born on December 29, 1941, in Del Norte, Colorado, to Alfonso and Pricilliana Gurule. On October 14, 1960, she married the love of her life, Ernest Trujillo. Together, they shared 65 beautiful years of marriage, building a foundation of devotion and strength that served as an inspiration to everyone who knew them.
Rayma was a woman who found magic in the simple things. She loved to dance, possessed a quick wit, and her laughter could brighten any room. Whether she was cheering on her Denver Nuggets, testing her luck at bingo, or heading "up the hill" to Central City, Rayma’s heart never wandered far from those she loved. She was a master of finding hidden treasures at second-hand stores, but her greatest treasures were always the people she held close to her heart.
Rayma’s family was her world.
She is survived by:
Her Husband: Ernest Trujillo.
Her Children: Mike Trujillo, Tom (Bernadette) Trujillo, and Johnny (Pamela) Trujillo.
Her Grandchildren: Amber, Terrance, Lucas, Johnny, Sean, Maya, Miranda, Julian, and 3 great grandchildren
Her Sisters: Irene Maez and Pat Melgoza.
Her Sister-in-law: Judy Gurule.
God Daughters: Geraldine and Donna
Her Extended Family: Numerous nieces, nephews, and friends who became like family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Alfonso and Pricilliana; her beloved son, James "Jimmy" Trujillo (survived by wife Betsy); and her siblings: Flora (Luben) Velasquez, Rose (Don) Trujillo, Bernie (Jake) Valdez, Toby (Vada, Diane) Gallegos, and Johnny Gurule. She was also preceded in death by her brothers-in-law, Leroy Maez and Rudy Melgoza.

Rayma’s dance continues in the hearts of those she left behind. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered for her warmth, her humor, and her unwavering love.
