Lori lived with a big heart, a free spirit, and an endless love for adventure. She was the devoted mother of Kyle Esser (Keri Sterle), Kegan Esser, Hailey Esser (Anthony Fahning), and Shae Sobczak (Josh Sobczak). She was also the proud and loving grandmother of Auggie, Kodi, and Kora, who brought her immense joy. Lori deeply loved her many family members and cherished friends, all of whom enriched her life and were dearly loved.
Lori held a special place in her heart for the underdogs of the world. She loved rescuing dogs, welcoming strangers as friends, and making everyone she met feel accepted, valued, and loved. She found happiness in the simple things—dragonflies dancing in the sunlight, a good book, time spent near the water, and traveling wherever the road would take her, especially when it meant taking the scenic route. She also treasured making memories with family and enjoying life's simple pleasures, like a cup of instant coffee and good conversation.
She will be remembered for her kindness, quick wit, stubborn determination, and unwavering compassion for all living things. Her family will forever cherish memories of a home filled with life, laughter, ruckus, and the constant presence of wagging tails.
Lori's life was a reminder that life does not have to be perfect to be beautiful. She lived with gratitude, embraced each day with an open heart, and always found beauty in the world around her.
In honor of Lori, be kind to others, take the scenic route whenever possible, stop to admire a dragonfly, listen to Beethoven's Symphony No. 7, Second Movement, and always make room for a misfit. That is how she lived—and how she would want to be remembered.
