LeRoy (Lee) Edward Coca
February 24, 1962 – February 17, 2026
LeRoy Edward Coca passed away on February 17, 2026, just one week shy of his 64th birthday. He was a devoted father, proud grandfather, loyal friend, and a man who lived life on his own terms — often with the sound of a Harley engine or classic rock playing in the background.
LeRoy was born on February 24, 1962, and grew up in Laramie, a place he always held close to his heart. His roots ran deep, the epitome of Wyoming strong. He loved sharing stories of growing up there with friends and cousins and graduated from high school in 1980. In 1984, he moved to Los Alamos to pursue a position as a guard for the government laboratories.
In 1985, LeRoy married Lori Hill. Together they built a life and family. In 1988, they welcomed their first daughter, Erica. The family later moved to Golden in 1991, where LeRoy began a new chapter working at Rocky Flats Plant. Their second daughter, Cassandra, was born in 1991. In 1993, the family relocated to Thornton, and in 1994, they welcomed their third daughter, Amber. Though LeRoy and Lori divorced in 2000, his love and pride for his daughters never wavered. He often said his greatest accomplishment in life was being a dad to his three girls.
As his time at Rocky Flats came to an end, LeRoy began working with the Weld County Sheriff's Office and later continued his service in 2005 as a security guard for the Adams 12 Five Star Schools. His work ethic was impeccable. He valued hard work, responsibility, and protecting others — roles that suited his steady and dependable nature.
In 2010, LeRoy met Barbara Romero, and the two began a loving partnership. Together they made their home in Brighton, building many memories in the years that followed.
LeRoy found immense joy in becoming a grandfather. He welcomed his first grandson, Jesse, in 2018, followed by his first granddaughter, Adelynn, in 2019. His family continued to grow with Madilynn in 2020, Ryker in 2022, and Tyler in 2023. Being “Papa Lee” was one of the roles he cherished most. Nothing brought him greater happiness than spending time with his grandchildren.
LeRoy loved the outdoors, riding his Harley, and gathering with family and friends especially his adventures of camping, side by side riding and trips he took with Barb. He enjoyed simple pleasures — grabbing a bite at Jim’s Burger Haven or Taco John’s, digging into a plate of spaghetti or pizza, and listening to a wide variety of music. His playlists often featured bands like ZZ Top, AC/DC, The Cars, Ozzy Osbourne, and Michael Jackson — reflecting his love for rock, country, and everything in between.
He was also a lifelong sports fan who proudly supported the Las Vegas Raiders (forever the Oakland Raiders in his heart), and Wyoming Cowboys and the Colorado Avalanche. In his younger years, LeRoy was known as a “damn good” basketball player in high school — a fact he never let anyone forget.
He is survived by his parents, Salvador and Mary Inez Coca; his brother, James Coca; his daughters, Erica, Cassandra, and Amber; his beloved grandchildren, Jesse, Adelynn, Madilynn, Ryker, and Tyler; and his partner, Barbara Romero. He also leaves behind many extended family members and friends who will miss his stories, laughter, loyalty, and unmistakable presence.
LeRoy will be remembered most for his fierce love of family, his pride in being a father and grandfather, and the freedom he found on the open road. His legacy lives on in the lives of his daughters and grandchildren — his proudest accomplishments.
