The story of Laurel
Laurel Ann Wilcox Potter Leavitt Age 73, passed away on November 22, 2022, at the home of her daughter Tracy after a courageous battle with ovarian cancer. She was born March 19, 1949, in Pocatello, Idaho to Blaine and Elaine Leavitt. She was the second of seven children. She grew up in Kearns, Utah, and attended Cyprus High School in the 1960s. She married Steven Bruce Potter on November 18, 1972. (Divorced). She married William Douglas Wilcox on March 19, 1997. She was a wonderful daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Laurel loved gardening, canning, bowling, crocheting, and most of all, spending time with her family. She is survived by her husband William Douglas Wilcox and her 5 children Shawn (Shantel) Leavitt, Kelly Lakin, Stefanie Potter, Tracy (Shane) Woolsey, and Douglas (Ebony) Wilcox, 21 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, brothers and sisters Terry, Kaven (Cathy) Karen, Dennis, Leslie, and Jeff. She is proceeded in death by her father Blaine Leavitt 2011 and mother Elaine Leavitt 2022. The family would like to thank the physicians Dr. Douglas Newbold and Dr. Joseph Merrill, the staff at Intermountain LDS hospital and Intermountain Hospice. With special thanks to the wonderful nurses Kristy, Carolyn, and Victoria whose dedication, care, and compassion are greatly appreciated. Laurel's request was to be cremated. A memorial service will be held Friday, December 16, 2022, at The Peachwood Ward at 11:00 am. 3963 Peachwood Drive West Valley City, UT 84119
