The story of Kathleen
Kathleen Griggs Rogers, age 79, passed from this life on August 14th, 2022. Kathy was preceded in death by her husband, Leslie Mark Rogers; her parents Walter Griggs and Lois Krupp; and her younger brother Alan Griggs. Kathy’s life revolved around children; she was a mom to many, her own 6 as well as anyone else who needed her. The family table always had room for extras, and there were usually several. With dinner came conversation, advice, and a lot of loving chaos. Kathy (and Les) also fostered several children who were in need of a family. Kathy’s work life revolved around children also as she taught elementary school for 30 years. Teaching and learning were her passion and throughout her career, she blessed the lives of many through her knowledge, skill, and caring. Kathy loved music and could be heard singing and making up songs throughout the day as she worked and taught. Kathy gathered friends and made them family wherever she lived. She created beauty in her homes and yards with photos, mementos, plants, and flowers. Kathy is survived by her children Laurie (Dennis) Hext, Shauna Henrie, Darrin (Alex) Rogers, Jason (Jodi) Rogers, David (Tamie) Rogers, and Steven (Jacy) Rogers; 21 grandchildren and one great-grandson; her sister Helen Stark and many other cousins, nieces and nephews, and dear friends she counted as family. Family and friends are invited to join her children for a memorial to be held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints at 4509 Montana Ave, Caldwell, Idaho 83607, on September 3rd at 1 pm. A zoom link is available to anyone wishing to attend remotely, simply contact one of her children. Condolences may be sent c/o Rogers to 997 S 151 Ln, Goodyear, AZ 85338
