Karyle Jeannette Braun, 65, of Litchfield Park, Arizona, passed away on June 27, 2025. She was born on January 1, 1960, in Mansfield, Ohio, to Howard and Jeannette Sprague. Karyle attended Washington High School in Phoenix, Arizona. Karyle worked for many years as an assistant manager at C-A-L Ranch, where she was known for her willingness to help and share her knowledge with others.
A lifelong animal lover, Karyle had a special bond with horses and was known for her compassion toward animals of all kinds. She cared for countless family pets over the years—there was rarely a stray she wouldn’t want to keep. If it were up to her, every animal would belong to a loving home.
On January 20, 1984, Karyle married the love of her life, Christopher R. Braun, in Phoenix, Arizona. They celebrated their 25th anniversary with a vow renewal surrounded by family and friends. Together, they raised four children—Travis, Sarah, Michael, and Peter—and ran “Braun’s Attitude Ranch,” a horse boarding facility in Cave Creek, Arizona, where they welcomed riders and animals alike.
Chris and Karyle shared a love of classic rock music, especially Sammy Hagar. They frequently traveled to Cabo San Lucas to attend Hagar’s annual birthday bash, where they made cherished friendships and lasting memories.
Above all, Karyle was devoted to her family. She is survived by: her son, Travis R. Braun (Julie) of St. Louis, Missouri, her daughter, Sarah J. Prechel (Josh) of Willmar, Minnesota and her son, Michael C. Braun, of Phoenix, Arizona
She is also lovingly remembered by her 10 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren, who will carry forward her legacy of warmth and strength.
Karyle was preceded in death by her son Peter Braun, her niece Kisha Gribbon, her brother Darrell Sprague, and her father Howard Sprague.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, July 12, from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. at Charley's at the Lakes 19260 N. Westbrook Parkway Peoria, AZ 85382
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to Dancing Horse Ranch. Karyle’s beloved horse, Tesla, now lives there and plays a special role in offering equine learning and healing to those on journeys of self-discovery and empowerment. https://dancinghorseranch.weebly.com/ways-to-help.html
