Justin Casey Leiper passed away on September 13th, 2024, in Scottsdale, Arizona, at the age of 36. Justin was born and raised in Scottsdale. He graduated from Desert Mountain High School and completed a degree in Education from Northern Arizona University.
Justin's first love was baseball, both playing and coaching. His name was derived from his father's spring training role as a relief pitcher for the Oakland A's, who had to attend every game "just in case" they needed him. Justin was a talented pitcher for Desert Mountain High School and Gateway Community College. After shoulder injuries that ended his career, he went on to coach Varsity baseball at Pinnacle High School and Desert Mountain High School while teaching math at Supai and Cocopah Middle Schools in the Scottsdale Unified School District.
Justin also worked as a bartender while remodeling and renovating homes in the Phoenix area. He was very talented, doing most of the work himself, and had an amazing eye for design.
Justin is survived by his mother, Veronica Shute-Leiper, his father, David Leiper, and his sister, Chelsea Slyker (Steven).
