With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Judy Ann Eby, who passed away peacefully on June 26, 2026, in Beaverton, Oregon, surrounded by the love she spent a lifetime giving to others.
Judy was born on May 5, 1949, in Vancouver, Washington, to Leslie Carter and Evelyn Johnson, both of whom preceded her in death. She lived a life defined by compassion, generosity, resilience, and an unwavering devotion to her family.
She is lovingly survived by her children, Hans, Lee, Eric, and Heidi; her daughters-in-law, Marta and Jamie; her son-in-law, Tristen; her cherished grandchildren, Nohemi, Ramon, Lexani, Martiniana, and Savannah; and her beloved great-grandchildren, Ezra, Syreni, and Miles.
Judy had a personality that could never be forgotten. She was spunky, sassy, quick-witted, and always ready with a joke or playful remark that could brighten even the darkest day. Her laughter was contagious, her spirit was strong, and her love was unconditional.
Nothing brought Judy more joy than children. Whether they were her own, her grandchildren, or simply children who crossed her path, she had an incredible ability to make each one feel special. Her love language was giving, and she delighted in spoiling the people she loved with thoughtful gifts, and surprise shopping trips. Seeing the smiles on their faces was one of life's greatest rewards.
She also found peace and happiness in the simple things—tending to her garden, caring for her beloved cats, and spending time at the beach. The sound of the ocean, the beauty of blooming flowers, and the companionship of her animals filled her heart in ways few things could.
As a single mother, Judy devoted herself to raising her children with love, strength, and determination. She worked tirelessly to provide not only for their needs but to make sure they always felt loved. She was the kind of person who would give even when she had little herself. Nowhere was this more evident than during the holidays, especially Christmas, when she poured her heart into making the season magical for everyone around her. Her generosity knew no bounds, and she found her greatest happiness in giving to others.
Judy's greatest accomplishment was not measured by material possessions or accolades, but by the family she built and the values she instilled. Her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren carry forward the kindness, humility, generosity, and unconditional love that she demonstrated every day of her life.
Though our hearts ache in her absence, we find comfort knowing that her legacy lives on in every act of kindness inspired by her, every family gathering filled with laughter, every Christmas celebrated with love, and every child who feels cherished because of the example she set.
She will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.
