Juan (Johnny) Vicente Gallegos, beloved Husband, Father, Grandfather and faithful child of God, passed away on March 26, 2025, at the age of 78. Johnny was born July 5, 1946, in Talpa New Mexico to Jose and Frances Gallagos. He grew up in a loving home with his brothers Orlando, Ruben, Roy and Danny. Their bond of brotherhood endured throughout their lives. He attended Tooele High School and received his degree from Salt Lake Community College.
He proudly served his Country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He was awarded the Bronze Star Metal.
After completing his Military Service, Johnny met the love of his life, Eileen Marie Medina. They were married June 20, 1970, and were devoted to each other for 54 years. He gained his extended family who loved him as their own. Juan and Mary, Beatrice, John, Joe and Gloria, Sally and Vicente, Irene, Robert and Diana. Together, Johnny and Eileen raised two children, Johnny and Jennifer. He loved and enjoyed their three grandchildren, Sienna, Johnny Joe and Eli. He loved his dogs Aries (deceased) and Ranger. God has truly blessed each of them; he was an amazing man who showed them the true meaning of love, devotion and family.
Johnny built a life of love and adventure. He loved to travel, as they visited many amazing places. Together they went to Hawaii and took different cruises. He loved to go camping and fishing. But his true passion was hunting. Johnny along with his father, Brothers, Nephews and Son would enjoy their hunting trips. Men out in the wilderness, sharing life lessons and good times. He was an amazing handyman who loved to fix and build things. Sienna would say "If Grandpa can't fix it, no one can. Because Grandpa can fix anything.” Him and Eileen played their favorite game of SkipBo almost daily for the last 30 years. The competition was on.
Johnny dedicated many years of hard work at the Tooele Army Depot and the Tooele City Parks and Recreation. He was known to be a hardworking, caring and giving man. Making lifetime friendships with so many and loved by all who knew him. To know him was to love him.
Johnnys legacy of love, humility and strength will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. His wife, children and grandchildren will carry on with all the amazing memories and life lessons he made. A special appreciation to the VA Hospital and Services, Mountain West Medical Center, Canyon
Home Health and Holladay Healthcare Center for all their love and continuous care over the years.
