The story of
Mrs. Joyce A. Hodge, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, sister and friend, passed away peacefully at her home on May 14, 2025, after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. Born on December 17, 1951, in Cleveland, Ohio, Joyce spent her later years in Maricopa, Arizona, where she lived in a warm and welcoming home filled with love and laughter. Joyce was a radiant spirit, known for her infectious laughter, kind heart, and an unwavering passion for life. A true lover of music, she found joy in singing and was never shy to dance, often gathering with her husband, Marvin, and her family to celebrate the moments that mattered most. her love of life touched the hearts of everyone she encountered, and her vibrant energy was a source of comfort and inspiration during her battle with cancer. Joyce was the cherished daughter of Ruth and Emery Phillips, and she leaves behind a loving family that carries forward her legacy of love and resilience. She is survived by her devoted husband of 40 years, Mr. Marvin O. Hodge; her daughter, Alicia el-Amin; her stepdaughter, Ciara Rose; her stepsons, Marvin O. Hodge Jr. and James Hodge. Joyce also leaves behind grandchildren and Great Grandchildren who adored her, as well as a host of family members and friends who will forever hold her in their hearts. Acknowledgment: We offer our heartfelt thanks to everyone saying their farewells and celebrating her life. It is a very difficult time and we appreciate all the support we have received, and we will be forever grateful for you. -Thank You
