The story of
Jorge Allen Jacobs, 75, passed away peacefully on May 20, 2025, in Thornton, Colorado. Jorge was born to Merlin and Vera Jacobs in Shell Lake, Wisconsin in 1950. Jorge grew up with four brothers, Merlin “Sonny”, Roger, Dwayne “Dewey”, and Donny. They spent their days fishing, swimming, and enjoying their time together. Jorge was an incredibly social individual, bringing fun and making a positive impact on his family, friends, along with anyone he may have just met. In his early life, he learned the importance of having a strong work ethic from his parents and grandparents. This drove him to learn and be successful in the trade industry. Jorge was an accomplished master welder, a manager, and a mechanic. He joined the Army in 1969, and moved to Colorado with his then wife, Kathleen. While serving our country, he used his skills in The Core of Engineers to keep our troops moving while fighting in Vietnam. When he returned to Colorado, he continued to work as a welder, later promoting to a forman/manager. For a period, he taught his craft at a local vocational school to those who wanted to learn from the best. If two pieces of metal needed to be fabricated, he was the man to do it. Jorge started his family with Kathleen, raising three children: Jorge Jr., Jeff, and Jason. He is now reunited with Jeff, who passed a few years ago. Dad has six grandchildren: Jade, Hayden, Zach, Maria, Jeffrey, and Addison, along with one great grandchild Jasper. In addition to family, Jorge leaves behind many friends and significant partners whom he had built lasting relationships with. Jorge “Dad”, “Jake”, was loved by many and will be missed by all lucky enough to know him. Jorge Allen Jacobs desired to be cremated and placed at the Spooner, Wisconsin State Veterans Cemetery. The placing of Jorge will be determined at a later date.
