The story of
Johnny Lee Brockes of Kent, WA, was born in St. Louis, Missouri on December 19, 1942, and passed away on August 1, 2025, at the age of 82. He passed peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and devotion. Born to Mattie Keefe, Johnny grew up alongside his brothers Bill and Jan, who preceded him in death. He later built a life filled with deep family connections, unwavering loyalty, and kindness that touched everyone he met. Johnny proudly served eight years in the United States Marine Corps, including a tour in Vietnam. His service reflected the same courage and strength that defined the rest of his life. He was preceded in death by his son, Robert and his beloved wife, Margaret, with whom he shared many cherished years. He is survived by his children — Chris, Danny, Johnny, and Ann — and their spouses Sarah, Shirley, and Gail. He is also survived by his 12 grandchildren, John, Casey, Jackson, Michael, Cathy, Kelly, Colin, Julie, Jason, Launi, Brian, and Kari. He is also survived by his niece Jan and many great-grandchildren, each of whom brought him immense joy. His faithful companion, Rico the dog, remained by his side through it all. Johnny will be remembered as a wonderful, caring man with a sharp sense of humor. He loved movies and music — especially the oldies — and found joy in the simple, meaningful moments of life. Most of all, he loved his family, and that love was returned to him many times over. He was loved by all who knew him and will be deeply missed. A memorial service will be held on Friday, October 17, 2025, at 10:30 a.m. at Tahoma National Cemetery in Kent, WA.
