John Marion Howard, 69, of Roseburg, passed away in a Portland hospital on Friday, September 29th. John was born July 5th, 1954, in Roseburg to Alfred and Mary Jane Howard. He is survived by his wife of 23 years, D.J. His son and daughter-in-law Jason and Rikki, daughter Audra, stepdaughter Kim, grandchildren Dominic, Bentley, Kayla, and Kacee and five great-grandchildren, Sisters Kathy Montserrat, Judy Niciewski, brother Barry, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his daughter Whitney, sister Paddy Dowdy and brother Tim. John worked at Uarco for many years. His last job was at Flegel Moving and Storage, where he met one of his best friends, Casey Wertz. He loved hunting, fishing, and crabbing with his friend Lee James. He enjoyed playing darts with Jim and Bruce, painting, and putting models together, but he loved his family the most. We were so special to him. He loved playing Santa Claus for all the children at family gatherings. He is so greatly missed. A memorial service will be held on October 28th at the Riversdale Grange at 3 PM.
