Jay Jennings Cook was born in Anchorage, Alaska to Jerry Jennings and Joy Gwendolyn (Jinks) Cook. After his parents divorce he was raised primarily by his mother who loved him deeply and most would say spoiled him rotten. He was an only child and his mother's entire world. He was the father of two amazing daughters and had 5 grandsons and 1 granddaughter. Jay was a jack of all trades. He was a self taught mechanic who could take apart almost any motor and rebuild it, he was a roofer, a carpenter, and arborist who wasn't afraid to take down any tree no matter the size, shape or location. Jay was a fearless and wild spirit. He spent a lot of his adult life roaming the world and he never found it in him to really put down any roots. He was an animal lover to the point he would take care of his animals before himself. Although he had some struggles he never overcome on earth he was a kind soul and he loved hard.
Jay leaves behind his mother Joy Cook;two daughters Brittney Thornhill (Jeremy);Celena Cook (William); 5 grandsons and 1 granddaughter; numerous cousins and his beloved dog Rascal who will miss him deeply.
We ask that in honor of Jay you make any donations to your local addiction recovery, homeless shelter or animal shelter.
